I took a four month old cat from my sister, because she was moving. The second i pryed it out of the car and into my hands, it began to scratch me and it hid somewhere in the garage. My garage is very messy, and has MANY places to hide. On top of that, the flourecent lights in the garage went out, so I can only see during the day, with the garage open and soemone watching to see if it runs out. It hasn't eaten since last night, but I did leave water out, but I dont think it drank any. It must be pooping and peeing right there on the floor. I don't know what to do. IM A DOG PERSON! I dont know what to do with a cat or how to find it. I can't put food out through the night, or for more then a couple minutes, because then I will get roaches and rats. Ew. Please help me; I don't want to fidn a dead cat in my garage.

Kitty is stressed from the changes. Kitties identify with their environment and they don't like cars! You took her from her familar surroundings to a place she doesn't know. The sights, smells everything is foreign to her.
Is there any way your sister can come help you since she knows her?
Give her some time, may take a day or two. Be patient and when you go out to the garage, talk softly and call her name. Take some odorous food with you like tuna or a catfood. Leave a small amount on the dish, leave it for about 10 minutes and then go pick it up. Do this several times through the day. She will associate you with food but you are not leaving it for the wild animals.
Also scared cats will hide in the most remote area they can find or up high. If there are shelves in the garage, look up and see if she is there. Since she is spooked, if you spot her and can get to her, put on some thick gloves first. The idea of the humane trap from the shelter is good, too.
Have a box ready to put her in to get her in the house. She will probably still try to fight and bite you because you are still a stranger to her. You can get the cardboard carriers from your vet and they are very inexpensive. Keep the carrier handy for anytime you need to transport her.
She will probably hide again in the house. But she will be where she can hear you and start to trust you. Continue talking softly to her while providing food and water. She is young and she will make the transition easier than an older kitty.
Purrs to you and your new furry baby.

How big is your garage exactly?? Are there that many places a cat could hide? Have a good look and then hoike the kitten out by his scruff when you find him! And get a proper cat carrier to transport him in to the house.
Get in touch with a shelter if necessary. As the first answerer said, they should be able to loan you a humane trap that you can put food in, that will close when the cat enters. Or, someone will come out and help you catch the cat. Call the ASPCA or RSPCA or whoever's relevant. If you call a vet they should have an idea what to do, or have some number for you to ring.
Leave food and water out in the garage at all times. Roaches or whatever can be got rid of, you can't just leave the cat to starve if it's in there!!
Water will not tempt a cat out. I would try something yummy like tuna if you're trying to lure it out.

The cat is terrified right now and will probably not eliminate for a few days. Put a kitty litter pan out there along with food and water. Sit in the garage and talk softly. He will eventually come out. When you see him put a small piece of cooked turkey near him and keep some with you. He will come and get it. When this is all over and he becomes your house cat. clean out the garage. If you haven't used something in six months, you don't need it. The rat and roach problem will be much easier to handle.

Get some hard food and leave it out with the water. The cat is stressed and needs time to recuperate. Rats can sense cats and will be unlikely to come out. If you have a door into your house, leave the door open with the lights on. Sooner or later the cat will be drawn to the light. You can even leave food just outside the door inside your house. Good luck!

Does your sister feed it treats? With my cat, all I need to do is rustle the treats packet or shake the treats box and she comes running. I would suggest that if you can take the cats food into the garage with you and open it there, it will probably be quite hungry and might emerge when it hears the familiar sound.
Good luck.

cant you leave some dried food down just so she can eat, I would call the rspca but that is UK, so whatever the thing is for you. If you get a dead cat in your garage that would attract all sorts so whats the lesser of 2 evils. I doubt she is still in there to be honest.

Good answers here. My cat hides in all the places that have been named. She also loves to hide in plastic or paper bags from the grocery store, She even runs at our feet while in the plastic bag. She will climb in any open box and make it hers.If someone leaves the closet door open a bit, she pushes in and climbs in the laundry basket and sleeps atop the clothes. On hot days, she loves to hide in the bathtub,

Indeed, any (straight) man out there will easily admit that they want to learn how to turn women on more often than not. In fact, the desire to learn how to make a woman want you is probably ingrained in your system, no matter what you try to do to resist it. Learn here https://tr.im/FMnsm
Unfortunately, the majority of men in today’s day and age have trouble doing this. This is why a lot of guys end up in the dreaded friend zone with their female friends or lose their girlfriends early on because they weren’t able to maintain that necessary spice in the relationship that women always crave.

Get the light fixed and if you need to trick your sister's cat, trick it by getting a humane trap from your local animal shelter (explain you need to borrow it in order to get the cat into the house and that you'll return it in a few days).
And why wouldn't you use a cat carrier to bring it from one house to another???
