Try to get hard food, but soffen it up with eather wet food or water. If it eats it with water then thats fine. If not you might want to try wet food. If it doesn't take that, and you're sure he's 6 weeks, then keep trying with just wet food. Any kitten food works fine, but some kitten foods come for really little cats (younger than the kitten aged food is for-sometimes called baby cat food?), as kitten food is for kittens slightly older, but if you can't find it regular is fine. If it was in the wild you might want to take it to the vets to check for fleas, tics, ear mights, and ALOT more infections.
Good luck!
P.S. If you keep it, remember to spay him! :D

At 6 weeks of age he can be on kitten food only. If you're not quite sure he's as old as 6 weeks, or he looks like he needs feeding up, you can offer a bowl of kitten formula once a day for a couple more weeks max.

Make sure it's kitten food you're giving, not adult food, this is important. If you decide to give formula, you can get kitten replacement formula (KMR) at a pet store, just ask them where it is. Make sure it's kitten replacement milk, not puppy!

Take the kitten to a vet. You need to find out what sex it is and what it's general health is as well as advice about when to spay/castrate (usually from 5 months of age) and what flea/worm products to use. And vaccination if you willing (hopefully) - this is done from 8-9 weeks of age if the kitten is in good health.

If you found the kitten outside, he's quite likely to have fleas and very likely to have worms. Get some appropriate treatment from the vet - he's under 8 weeks of age so he will need the spray version of Frontline for fleas rather than the spot-on version.

If you found the kitten outside and hes only six weeks old, then hes most likely a feral kitten. His mum will be around somewhere but she won't show herself while your around. He will be eating scraps, or mice and other creatures brought to him, but will still be dependant on milk.

Its extremely difficult to tame a wild kitten even such a young one, and he may grow up to be a more out doors type cat. For now give him a bit of kitten meat, but only a small amount, as too much will put strain on his stomach and may make him sick. Using formula milk may help but he should be weaned off that by now so it would be more a case of formality than necessity.

You have to decide what you plan to do with him, because feral cats don't make good pets, and most animal shelters would take him, but he may be there for a long time and miss out on his childhood. Ask around local farms and ask if they would mind having a feral on site which in exchange for a warm bed of hay and a bit of food now and again will control the rodent population.

get kitten formula dry and wet food. Kitten Chow's the best for dry since it has nutrients that the mother would have, and you can feed the kitten for a year on this stuff (or more). if he/she is not eating, get the KMR formula that's already liquid to stimulate its appetite. if it still doesn't eat by monday call a vet

You can feed him regular dry cat food but just make sure you add water to so its soft. or just canned food is okay.
