maybe if you eat high fiber foods like plain oatmeal and whole wheat breads then you will not be as hungry.

Keeping yourself busy also lets you forget about eating such as playing video games or a musical instrument. If you want a movie you may be more tempted to snack.

Well when you have the urge to eat, try eating something healthy instead of something unhealthy. Choose fruits and/or vegetables instead of Kraft Mac n Cheese or ice cream or crap like that. And make sure you're getting enough fiber in your daily diet - fiber helps you stay full throughout the day when eaten during your meals, and then you will be much less likely to want to snack on something in between meals, or have unnecessary cravings.

Eat things like fresh fruit - apples, oranges, bananas are good. Eat crunchy vegetables like carrots or celery. Drink a glass of water when you're hungry, too.

Avoid sugary stuff like cookies, candy, chocolate. Avoid heavily processed foods, or bleached white bread. The sugars and carbs metabolize faster, and spike your blood sugar level. When that drops off, you feel hungry again.

Try chewing sugar free gum. I like Orbit's Raspberry Mint because it tastes like candy and is sweet, but its bad for you.
