I would introduce myself and ask if they attended church. If they did...I would ask where. If it was a bible teaching church that I knew...I would ask if they minded if we said a prayer and ask God's blessings on their Life and Family, friends...If they said yes...I would pray and then be on my way. If they said no..I would ask why...listen to what they said...ask if they had accepted Jesus as their personal savior. If they said yes...I would ask them to pray...if they said no...I would ask if they minded if I showed them the path to salvation. If the said ok...I would show them...if no...I would thank them for theit time and be on my way.

Jesus said to go out unto all nations preaching and teaching the road to salvation in my name. When we approach a person with a loving heart...God's Holy Spirit is there dealing with that person....giving us the words to say that that person needs to hear...and each one is different. He did not say to argue any points. As soon as an arguement insues...the spirit leaves and you are left on your own.

We can not save anyone...not even ourselves. We are just messengers and we travel as warriors in the greatest army in creation...and against the most powerful foe ever fought.

I think first of all you have to be led by God to go to a strangers house to witness. But if you are led by Him then He will definitely give you the words to say. I personally think that every time you witness it is never the same. Different people different ways to witness.

The only way I would go to a strangers house and witness about God is if God spoke to me and told me to go. There are too many crazy people out there now for me to go to a stranger house, especially when they are arresting people for saying prayers in public.....not me...:)

Well, I think it can be tough to go to a strangers house. But, if you look at their surroundings, such as what's in their yard or even a bumper sticker on their vehicle, you might be able to start up a conversation. The bible touches upon life's basics and there's something in there for everyone.

As far as those out there that don't believe in the door to door ministry, Jesus himself witnessed to all. He went from marketplace, door to door and even into the synagogues. He walked everywhere so he could witness to everyone he came upon.

My spouse made a comment that they hate Witnesses because they disturb people by going door to door or preaching to those who didn't even ask for it. I asked them if they hated Jesus, too? Imagine the shock when that question was asked and the big "NO" came out of their mouth. Well, I tell them, because that's exactly what Jesus did.

The only way I would witness for God at a stranger's house is by being courteous, open, full of love to give & just be comfortable myself to be myself, so they could see the love coming thru our conversation. I would not "go to a stranger's house" to talk about God. I'd let the conversation flow & if they "wanted" to talk about God, ok, if it doesn't happen to come up, that would be ok by me.

First I would introduce my self. Then I would ask them if they would mind If I said a little pray with them. I would let them know what a wonderful and merciful God he is, and thank him for being such a good provider and let them know what a wonderful leader, and great forgiver he is.I would let them give the next cue. I would ask them if they would like any special prayers. If they need them, I would also pray for what ever their needs might be. I wouldn't want to be too pushy. I would ask if they have a church that they go to. Then I could suggest one if they want.Kind of tricky as I have never done this before, but had one come to my house and it made my day. God bless. I am good at praying for others but have never gone to a stranger in person. If I am wrong in my approach please let me know. God Bless.

I would have to wait for God to tell me when the time is right and what I have to say. Going on your own is never good , it can make a person turn the other way. The Spirit will let you know just what to do.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person? Lets go through the Ten Commandments.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Heb. 9:27

We are judged by the Ten Commandments.

Ever told a lie?
Ever hated anyone? See 1 John 3:15
Ever lusted after someone? See. Matt. 5:27-28
Ever blasphemed?

For whoever shall keep the whole LAW, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

Lawbreakers go to hell.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Gal. 5:19-21

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

This is clear and humbling. However God made a way so we wouldn't have to go to hell. Jesus (God in flesh) came to earth, lived a sinless life, and was crucified on our behalf. He rose three days later defeating death and in turn giving us an escape route from hell. But Jesus did command us to repent. That means to turn from sin to God. The perfect example of repentance is found in Psalm 51.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

You see when you repent God gives you a new heart and new desires and they are desires to serve Him. As a result you are biblically born again! That my friend is good news!

Telling a proud self-righteous sinner that Jesus love me would cause me to laugh and scoff uncontrollably. Jesus always used ONE things when witnessing. The TEN COMMANDMENTS. The LAW is the SCHOOLMASTER to bring us to repentance! The only way to humble a proud self righteous sinner is to take him through the LAW! Once he knows he's in serious trouble....he becomes humble...

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:
“ God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6

Therefore the LAW was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Gal. 3:24

But we know that the LAW is good if one uses it LAWFULLY. 1 Tim. 1:8

The LAW of the LORD is PERFECT, CONVERTING THE SOUL;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Ps. 19:7

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the LAW. For I would not have known covetousness unless the LAW had said, “You shall not covet.” Rom. 7:7

Who show the work of the LAW written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them. Rom. 2:15

First of all we got to answer your Question. To witness for God! Meaning we are on a mission. Meaning we are suppose to be saved. Every Christian know, knows his or her calling. According to scripture "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord" "And when you go into a household, greet it, And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet," "Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!" Witnessing is serious business, we are doing our Fathers business.

First of all, no one should go to a strangers house to "witness for God." But rather they should keep their religious opinions to themselves.

Secondly, if God is real, why does he need a witness?

The first thing I would ask "Do YOU HAVE A HOME CHURCH?" ( I Ask God to Have their Heart ready before I Knock on their Door.) If they answer my question Willingly and Friendly, and Invite me In, then I know That the Holy Spirit Is working, and The next thing You know we became friends and God permitted me to Lead them to Him. Praise God. I LOVE SOUL-WINNING!!! In Proverbs 11: 30 God says "He that Winneth Souls Is Wise." (smile) (What an awesome compliment)
