Certainly not overall. We do have more awareness about some things now, like the dangers of too much saturated fat and too much sugar...but most people just ignore it. The biggest reason why people were eating better 50 years ago is because there were far less restaurants, including fast food places. Now, many people just get fast food for breakfast, lunch or even dinner, when back then, most if not all meals were cooked at home.

Also, there wasn't all of the processed crap back then that there is now, and I can guarantee you that people at more vegetables back then as well.

the current "obesity" epidemic in the US is a direct reflection of the average diet of those in the USA today. the human genome has not changed yet more people are dying from various diseases that are the direct result of the diet and lifestyle.

No, all the new junk food we be eating more than we did in around 1950.
