Me and my ex were together for 3 years and all through the years i have been financially dependant on him ( going to college). He always made me feel worthless and cheated on me many different times. Recently I got a great job paying a substansial amount of money and all of a sudden he wants me back. Now I know what you are thinking he is trying to use me
because of my money, but he still makes a few hundred more than me a week, and he has never been that type of guy. Now there is no way in hell I am getting back with him because I am
doing fine where I am at ( financially and relationship wise). My question is why the sudden splurge of interest.

You let him walk all over you and now he thinks he can treat you the same way plus get access to your money. Find someone else.

It may be that you have moved into a different class now that you are a college graduate and a professional. Now you are, in a certain sense, his equal. Maybe your having been dependent on him was too much responsibility for him or created a too substantial imbalance of power between you and now that's changed. Or maybe he's a little fickle by nature...

PLEASE, listen to the girl who has been in your shoes, IGNORE him. Head games are no fun. Once and abuser always an abuser no matter what or how. I went back 3 times how stupid am I. My situation is different but none the less when dealing with relationships listen to the warning signs and for heaven sakes once you are gone stay gone.

Congratulations for your accomplishments. I hope your future is bright and successful. Happy Holiday's

Maybe it's a case of "You don't know what you got 'til it's gone."

Money is the predictable answer... maybe now you're making money he wants to get back with you cause you won't be dependent on him?

Good on you for not going back to him though =]

i hate to say it, but i feel it is money.
he has treated you in a horrible fashion, cheated on you,
makes you feel worthless and now all of a sudden he wants you back? please remember this never happened until
after you got the good paying job. stay away from him
and find a gentleman who will treat you with dignity a respect.

my guess is hes not really trying to use you, he just thought you were a slacker/irresponsible before you had a decent job. Now that you have a decent job and are making money, hes sees your not a worthless drain on society.

not that.. that makes him any better... i'd suggest staying away anyway, but as always do what you want.

Your money.

He wants your money. Even though he can support himself, it doesn't hurt to have more. Don't get back together with him - any person who makes you feel worthless needs to be kicked in the balls, not dated again!!!

he probably has finally figured out that no one else will put up with the terrible way he treats them and wishes to have you back because you did for so long.

good for you for moving on.
