I suggest using a pre-made graham cracker or Oreo crust. But if you're using raw dough then bake the dough first and let it cool. Then make the pudding as directed on the box. After that fold in some Cool Whip. (I like crushing up some Oreo's and folding those in too with chocolate pudding!!! Yum!) Refrigerate till set!

Chocolate Pudding Pie
INGREDIENTS
* 1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
* 1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
* 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
* 10 gummi worms
DIRECTIONS
1. Make instant pudding according to directions on box.
2. Dump pudding into pie crust.
3. Spread whipped topping on top of the pudding.
4. Refrigerate until not too gooey.
5. Garnish with gummy worms.
From looking at this recipe, they are using a graham cracker crust. So just "dump" the pudding in the pie crust without baking the pie crust first.

Make your pie crust, lift into the pan and bake according to your recipe.
Mix your pudding after your crust has cooled completely. If it is instant, let it set in the 'fridge for about 5 minutes before turning into the crust.
Top with whipped creme and whatever else you may like.
Store in the 'fridge, too.

If you are using a graham cracker crust, you do not bake it at all. If you are using a regular pie crust, you will need to bake it first. IMO...Graham cracker crust is easiest and tastes the best.
