Dinovite actually does work.

I had a German Shepherd that had itchy skin her whole life and I added this to her food and it went away.
It's just that some dogs need more than what is provided in dog food.
Of course you could go the raw food route and get the same results but that is more expensive and bloodier. Most people don't want to feed their dogs whole dead animals like rabbits and squirrels.

Take your dog to the vet. I also have a very itchy dog and oatmeal shampoo does nothing for him. Your dog might have "hot spots" (even though it's winter). Your vet might give you a topical spray to put on the wound itself. You might not even know your dog has a sore until the vet digs around in his fur and finds one.
And about the fleas: if you are not treating your dog for fleas HE HAS FLEAS. I live in an apartment and my dog only gets to go out for jogs and bathroom breaks and he has fleas and has to take Advantix (or whatever it is) every month. If your dog goes outside at all for any amount of time he has fleas.
Consult your vet.

See the vet. My dog has lots of allergies, he just was at the vet today and got some medicine for skin infections as well as special shampoo and some steroids to stop the itching.

it could be many things. first double check to make sure his doesn't have any fleas. make sure you use protection as k9 advantex or similar product all the time. give him a bath in treated shampoo especially for dogs and flea. brush him to take any excessive shedding. don't give the dog any sugars or fish because that stuff makes them itch more. if itching continue take him to the vet to check him out and do an allergy test.

I would try to go to the vet tell the doc the problem your dog is having. there is a medicated shampoo the vet office can sell you. it is not horribly priced and it seemed to work for my dog. Sorry I cant remember the name of it though. I know it comes in a white bottle with blue lettering on it.

It could be many things....a vet is the best person to ask. You should take them to the vet and have him look at the skin...they could have fleas...you just many not see them. They could have allergies too. If you have more than one dog and they are both scratching...It would lead me to think they have something like fleas. Take them to the vet.

My cocker is allergic to a lot of things and we give him benedryl Every day and a baby aspirin and it does help. Be sure to get a mild shampoo or allergic DOG. from the vet. Most shampoo or not ph neutral, even baby shampoo. Horse shampoo is extremely mild and will be OK , but do not us people shampoo.

Even if you think they don't have fleas, I'd try Frontline on them and see if it works. If it doesn't, your dogs may have skin allergies and need to see the vet.
