hey, if your new girlfriend of a couple of months, was in the house by herself and you got an msn instant message, she clicked on it and read the message, then went on to read your conversation history with that particular contact, what would your reaction be?

In all honesty I would not be happy with her looking at my history etc. after just seeing each other for a couple of months. If we had been together for a year or two then that would be completely different set of circumstances. But just two months into a relationship I would find it as intrusive and none of her business.

I'd dump her and tell her not to ever let me see her again. Obviously can't trust her, so she isn't worth having around.

She has no right going through anything of mine without permission. If she'll do something like that then I don't want to give her the chance to do other things.

tsk tsk - who has been a naughty girl!

I wouldn't do it to my guy, it is a HUGE invasion of his privacy... i suppose some guys wouldn't mind, but if they do, then he'd lose trust in you.

You put your desire to know before his desire to keep something to himself.

If you would have asked, maybe he would have said yes...

This kind of stuff is on par with stealing... why don't you just go through his wallet while your at it. You took something that wasn't yours.

The only excuse would be if you had a valid reason to suspect him of cheating.

pissed off. Its the same as going through his mail. Its really none of your business. Especially since you have only been going out a few months

I'd ask her if she was suspicious of something and did she trust me. Or maybe I'd just put a password on the computor to wind her up...

Disturbed.

why the hell is she looking through my stuff?? She's controlling and jealous, doesn't trust me. I'd have to rethink about the whole "relationship" thing...

Livid, but also depends on how close I am to her, and how deep the trust level is

It would depend on what the content of the convo was.

I wouldn't be pleased, but if she did I would ask her what she thought she would find out that she didn't already know. Then ask her if she had any secrets from me.
