how long must you be in the house after taking a shower when its cold outside.

as long as your hair is dry (either naturally from "air-drying" or by using a blow dryer) you should be fine. I'm out of the shower, dressed, with a blow-dried head and out the door in 20 minutes usually..and I've never had a problem. Just remember to wear a hat (or if you wear hoodies/coats with hoods..pull the hood up and over your head). Most of the heat that we lose from our bodies in the winter is from the top of our heads.

I lived in Michigan near an all-season indoor public pool.
We used to come right out into the Michigan winter with wet hair. Kind of cool when the wind hits the hair and it instantly freezes. We never suffered any harm or got sick from the experience. I say if you are just going out to your car then you do not have to wait at all.

I would say an hour's long enough to allow your pores to close.
