I think it generally has to do with the fact in the way that Christians are perceived. The loudest/most offensive versions of your brethren tend to incite the loudest/most offensive versions of those who do not walk your path.
Part of this is also the fact that this is the Internet, so a lot of people who like to troll around are here for the sake of making trouble. Others are saying things that they wouldn't dare say in real life.
Another important point to remember: As a board devoted to Religion and Spiritutality your bound to encounter far more people who feel very strongly about the issue of religion.
I can tell you right now that there are Christians, Atheists, Polytheists, Buddhists, etc who are right now out on other parts of Y! Answers, somewhere online, or offline in a park or who knows where else.
They wouldn't even dream of setting foot in here, because their belief or lack of belief is only a component of their lives. An important component, but not something to stress/sweat over. And certainly not somehing to "go to war" over.
Whereas others (your Angry Christian Brethren for instance, or their Angry Detractors) seem to make the whole world of these issues.

I'm just guessing, but as you are Christian I would assume you clicked questions that you would be interested in. I again assume that the majority would be Christians asking the same question of atheists for the thousandth time and still not listening to the answer. You would have seen some short tempers flare in frustration. If you opened the same sort of questions asked by atheists you would have seen the same hate from the Christians to the atheists. Just my point of view.
Edit: I said I would try and be civil today which is probably a good thing because I had some rather sarcastic remarks lined up about "putting down Christians", none of them in very good taste.

Everyone thinks they have the answers and if your opinion differs than in anyway they feel threatened and attack you. It goes both ways, Christians attack Athiest and vise versa. Don't be sadened by it. Just learn from it. You will discover that there are only a handful of people on all sides that actually make a good point in their favor.
If you are confident in your beliefs, others thoughts won't have any kind of effect on you anyways.

Why do human beings in this dialogue board positioned down atheists and jews and muslims? this is existence. I see a hell of alot extra questions against atheists right here, yet do I care? No. everyone believes they're actual, yet rather basically some human beings, or none human beings are. I hate to break to everyone yet you're probably incorrect- as am I, with the quantity of distinctive ideals obtainable, you are not extra advantageous than everyone else, no 'nearer to God', or something. you basically have self assurance what you suspect actual or incorrect, and this is in human nature to think of they're actual. everyone seems to be gonna degrade human beings, all you're able to do is brush aside it, or combat decrease back will twin stress.

Take a second look and you will see offensive things being said to non-Christians also.
It goes both ways.
The reasons are probably the same on BOTH sides.

That goes both ways. There are Christians who hate and bash just as bad as, but usually worse than other people. It seems like some of them automatically hate what they or their Bible can't explain.
When people get bashed and insulted and condemned to hell, they tend to disrespect and dislike the people who do it. What are we supposed to do? Let them walk on us because they're Christian? I think not.
Honest answer.

The majority of people on here putting down Christians (such as Mormons, Catholics and Jehovah's Witnesses) are other Christians.
Your question should be why do so many Christians seem to delight in knocking down the beliefs of other Christians?
If they do not respect each other, how can they expect others to respect them?

Yeah, I can't figure it either. Here they are, the most dominant group in the most dominant nation in the world and all they do is good works like boycotting movies that don't say what they agree with and bullying people who don't agree and pushing for political ends that really have nothing to do with the church but that gives them power. Gosh. Who wouldn't like people like that? Why, only those paganistic people who should go to hell, that's who, and should be punished by christians until they get there!!!! Make em suffer! Make em suffer! That's the christian way!!!!!!

Some of these things are true. For instance, given current evidence, it takes intellectual deficiency to accept Christianity (or any of the other two religions associated with Abraham).
