I have yeast (the kind for making bread), so now what? i am going to put it into a bottle of coke and seal it back up... how long should i wait for it to ferment? will it work if the bottle is airtight? will the yeast die because of the carbonation? does the temperature have to be perfect for it to work (it will be fermenting at room temperature)? please respond, thx.

What on earth are your doing. First of all yeast needs air and warmth to grow. The sugar in the coke will feed it. If you seal it, it could explode because the yeast will begin to produce gas which is what makes bread rise.

Besides, it is doubtful you will want to drink the result of this experiment, even if it works. It will look pretty disgusting.

This is the stupidest idea I have heard in a long while. First of all if you leave the coke in the bottle and it sounds like that is what you are planning to do, the low pH will kill off all the yeast. So nothing is going to happen. Second how are you going to seal it back up. Yeast will grow at any reasonable temperature provided the solution chemistry is right. They need a source of sugar. By the was yeast don't need air as one person said. In fact yeast are anaerobic.

Home brewing is not difficult. It is worth either buying a kit which makes it really easy to do yourself or getting a book and following some simple instructions.

Home made wine can be crap unless you buy an idiot's easy to use kit or try one of the tried and trusted home made wine recipes for elderberry, elderflower or buy some grape juice and ferment that. It also requires you to buy some equipment and have the space to keep it all.

Simpler to go to the supermarket and buy it.

Toss it in some unpasteurized apple cider or other fruit juice and in 30 days you may have something drinkable, but please don't use the coke. So are you 13 or 15?
