I don't know - it depends on your country of origin and also where you plan on traveling. The plane portion is not something to worry about. I first went on a plane by myself when I was 12. However I do not think any hotels or car rental companies will rent out a car/room to a minor.
If your parents were willing to place a major deposit you might be OK. Your best bet is to call a travel agent to learn of specific rules and regulations regarding minors.

Hotels and cars have an age limit that you can rent them. Basically because you are a child and are not legally responsible for your actions. As for a plane, children fly by themselves all the time.

Where can a 16 year old rent a car..I don't think so.
They can travel on a plane by themselves. If they are not used to flying - get a direct flight and have someone meet them at the airport.

just go get a plane ticket at the airport, my sister is only 13 and she got herself a plane ticket to georgia.
and also 16 year olds cant rent there own cars, you would have to be i think 21 years old to have one...and you have to have a credit card to pay for a hotel room, i think...

In the US a 16 year old can't have a rental car. And in most states, they can't have a hotel room either....but they can fly all they want!

someone who is 16 can fly alone, but can't get a hotel or car unless it's reserved in someone else's name. Even in that case, a rental car probably won't happen.
