I'm 14, and I had dental surgery two days ago. My teeth and gums are killing me.

Would Tylenol Regular Strength work? Or would it be too strong for me? Ughhh.

wcan: Yes, they left me instructions. I have to gargle twice a day and brush my teeth (as always) They gave me an ice pack. I've been using it, but still the pain will not go away.

I would use ibuprofen or aleve because with some surgeries, you arent suposed to use asperin products, as it thins the blood.....

If it is that bad, you need to call the dentists office and find out where to contact the on call dentist to call in a prescription strength pain medicine for you. The Regular Tylenol may help a little, but it will wear off quickly. You could even alternate every 2 or 3 hours with Ibuprofen and then Tylenol, but still, it will wear off fairly quickly. A prescription strength pain reliever will last much longer.

Call and see if you can get the dentist's answering service and leave a message that you need some medicine for pain. Didn't they give you a prescription or instructions before you left the office?? They usually do.

ibuprofen would probably work better. Best advice, though, call your oral surgeon or dentist and get his/her advice
