HELL YES, YOU SHOULD GO!

It sounds like money is really tight, even tighter than the health insurance.

It kind of stinks that you have to defer to your mother's wishes, but go of your own accord if you can.

Brush carefully after EVERY meal - go to the bathroom and school and do it - but don't overscrub or anything. Avoid any sweets, and just be real careful for the next month or so if you can't get to a dentist - just for safety.

I had something similar once, I bit into this sugar cookie, and it had something hard in it - I cracked the tooth all the way down and had a sharp edge. The doc said that it was not exactly a crack, (I forget what he said it was), but only the outside was cracked and it should be okay. Then he smoothed out the jagged part with "acid edging".

go to the dentist

every time you eat you could risk chipping off more of your tooth.

it wont grow back if its an adult tooth

If its tiny and not noticeable then its probably fine.

But, if it gets bigger then you should probably head to the dentist
before it becomes a big issue.

Yes, go. Any damage to the teeth should be looked at. If there is something that needs repair, now is the time to get it going. Please don't wait.
