(Don't get me wrong, I LOVE IT here! But it is hardly built on "Christ-like" aspirations! LOL!)

"....so how can America be a "Christian" nation?....."

It's not . It's a nation with a lot of " Christians " in it ( 73 %& shrinking, at last estimate )

Any statement by the domestic Taliban, to that effect, is in direct contradiction to the sentiments of the Founders. Jefferson, in particular . The "Christian Nation" argument is usually used to promote ideas/policies that are blatantly unconstitutional , or otherwise without merit , by clothing them in "godliness" . Mostly just a religion-flavored scoop of bs , in an attempt achieve something on the earthly plane , that wouldn't fly otherwise .

*stepping off soapbox now* ;D

Wrong , I am and always was an American . I am not greedy at all . I do not envy anybody . I am very proud , and I live among many Christians , but not in a Christian nation. America never was and never will be a Christian nation It is a nation of many Christian people only .
In spite of what the bible says , pride is a virtue. When pride is taken to extreme , it is vanity - - a vice .
It's not built on "Christ like aspirations " ? Aren't we lucky ?

Who declared it a Christian Nation? More like a Consumer Nation! No, greed, envy or pride does not fuel the American Dream...CREDIT is what keeps us going! Not to mention, DIVERSITY, like in our religious beliefs...Such a wonderful potpourri, America!

One's prosperity depends upon one's abilities and hard work.

Your idea of the American Dream and my idea of the American Dream are 2 different dreams. It was definitely built on Christ-like aspirations. Love for God. Love for Family. Love for others.

Greed, envy, and pride are not the basis of the American Dream... I'd say those are the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...

The bad majority does not make a nation. There are many Christians in America who are spiritually matured, some are even powerful prayer-healers.

I always thought the American dream was based on freedom. Freedom to live the way you would like. Freedom to worship the way you would like. Freedom to speak up when you are unhappy with the way things are. Freedom to talk against our leaders. Freedom to get rid of those leaders.

Newflash. America IS bleeding and rotting from her core. The American dream is no more. That dream has been over for a while now.
