If you are referring to the one I'm thinking of, I haven't seen seen him on here in the last two weeks. As I recall, there were fundraiser tatics that were odd and strange, and it gave me a sense that it was a scam.

Depends on what you mean by legitimate.
All "charities" are supposed to post their ratio of administrative cost to actual "gift"..
The percentage of each dollar actually given to its end "user" is sometimes very small.
Different chapters of the same charity can have different percentages of actual "gift"
There is a chapter of the Leukemia society I have given to which has an extremely high gift percentage ( over 70%)
because of the large number of unpaid" volunteers" in that group.
Other chapters may be somewhat less, simply because of higher rent for office space as an example.
Search "Feed the Children" & other children's charities & see which has the best record.
Could be surprising.
Best regards.

I have worked with the Feed the Children but they are not the best when it comes to the kids in my opinion. worldvision.org is the best place to go to donate for kids overseas. St. Jude's Childrens Hospital in Memphis is the best in the US. I have sponsored a child with worldvision for over 10 years now, they send us updates, pictures, even grade cards, you can also go to charitynavigator.org and see how they rate compared to the rest.

That is what I want to know. I get a letter from then at least once a week. How much goes to the children for food?

Well, so far it is. It's here in Oklahoma City. The guy who runs it got into trouble once, but so far it's still running. If you want to donate, I would directly contact the agency here to do that to avoid being scammed. There are a lot of crooks out there.

Personally, I think Oxfam.org, or One.org are better charities
for feeding the children
