Go confront your sister. Tell her exactly why it is bad and tell her you don't respect her for smoking. But you have to make her understand that she needs to tell your mother.

Say how you can't believe she is doing this and how she has really let you down. Then tell her to go tell your mother or you will.

First you lead by example stay smoke free. Mom will find out on her own and some well placed clues may help her, hint hint.
Smoking is something that will have her hooked in no time and she will expose herself. Right now she needs a friend who can show her other things are cool and don't involve damaging your health. Problem is young people are invincible in there mind and often don't get the whole being healthy deal. Whom does she respect outside of the household perhaps and older adult friend of the family that she admires could help. In any case if your parents are smoking ,monkey see monkey do. Good Luck. Be glad this is her only bad habit right now.

Hmm this is a very hard situation, Trust is an important thing to learn and learn from when you are a young teenager, however she is also betraying your trust.
However, if you don't tell your mum and she finds out that you knew, then You have betrayed her trust. You are in the middle of something you really don't want to be.

My advice is to sit your sister down and tell her exactly the position you have put her in. Don't go on about the effects of smoking as I'm sure she knows about that already, and if that hasn't stopped her taking up smoking, it won't make her quit.

perhaps tell her that you will have no choice but to tell your mum if she doesn't stop, or give her the chance to tell her herself.

Good luck thats a hard one!

My good friend had the same problem. She really cared for little sis, but she didn't want her sister to hate her or not trust her. So she told her mom that her sisters friends were smoking and to drug test her because she might be smoking also. So, my advice is to either tell your mom that, or when your sister comes home tell your mom she smells like smoke or something. Omg I'm really sorry about this, and I really wish you Good Luck because it was really hard for my friend to deal with!!!!

well you need to talk to her and tell her that no one will approve of this and we care about you. Give her some tough love. Even if it means telling your parents so if you really care about her and dont want her to smoke you should be the person to tell mom or dad that shes doing it she may not trust you again but at least you wont be keeping family secrets. Plus this is something that needs to be addressed she cant smoke shes not at the legal age! where is she getting them from? Shes 14 going on 18 thinking she can do waht ever she wants but in reality she needs to think about whose shes hurting.

If she starts now, she'll never stop later. I started smoking when I was 16 and now I'm 32. I wish I never started and it's so hard for me to stop becuase of the nicotine and I enjoy it too much. But I do know the effects becuase I am a registered nurse and see patients who have smoked for years. It's not pretty.

You have to tell her to stop now. Talk to her friends, your cousins, and tell her yourself. It's not cool. Show her some of the sites on the web of the effects of smoking. Good luck.

Stop her!! Take them away and let her know where you stand. If she continues to defy you, then let her know that you'll have to tell your mom. She might get upset for a while but she'll thank you down the road. Smoking now can lead to other things like drugs and alcohol. Good Luck!

first that is cool that you wanna get her to stop
do not tell your mom first
talk to her in private let her know how bad it is, she is doing it to fit in with the wrong croud cause if she is hangingwith bookworms and dye hard school finatics she wouldnt be smoking. My sister got expelled from smoking in the locker room at school when she was 14.
talk to her educate her on all the negatives that come with it. I think she is doing it to fit in with the wrong crowd so yeh up her esteem if you can
if that does not work you have to tell your mom and when she gets older she will thank you, do you feel your mom can get her to stop? only tell as last resort!

Mums seem to have radar for this sort of thing, she'll probably find out anyway & then you're in the clear. You could try telling your sister that you understand completely that she needs to mature and be more adult, but it's just such a shame it's making her so unattractive....research indicates that teenagers are more concerned about how they appear when it comes to smoking than health concerns

Your mother needs to know. Yes, your sister will be mad at first, but this is very serious. Your mom needs to be aware of this and have a serious talk with her about what she is doing to her body. There are serious health consequences associated with smoking and an adult like your mom is probably well-equiped with information that maybe your sister doesn't know about the harm she is doing to herself and those around her.

Ask her why she is smoking. Be like, "why are you paying money to slowly kill yourself?" If she thinks your crazy than just tell her some bad stories about people smoking. oh yea true story im 13 and BOTH my grandmas and one of my granpas died of smoking
if this doesnt help then if you catch her smoking dont let her see you but go get your mom and be like mom i need sis help will you go get her? then your mom will catch her.
i really hope this helps!!
