used to work at dairy queen, and people call them all sort of things.
i prefer the term jimmies, but i think the majority of people call them sprinkles now.. ggrrr....

In the New England region of the USA, sprinkles are often referred to as jimmies (either chocolate or colored). It has been suggested that this comes from Jim Crow, due to the original chocolate coloring.
Yikes, I'll stick to calling them sprinkles!

I've never known them as anything other than sprinkles. I have never heard the term jimmies. It might depend on what part of the county you live in.

you have Jimmies,sprinkles in Europe the are called hundred and thousands. it depends on what part of the country you are in down south all soda pop was coke in new england it is tonic down south a shake is a shake in new england it is a frappe or a fribble

sprinkles are things that are decorations on cakes are cupcakes that you can eat. they are yummy and crunchy and usually colorful
