Sometimes helps, sometimes hurts, sometimes doesn't matter, depending on your personal circumstances.

If the two incomes are far apart, it's more likely to help. If the incomes are close to each other, might not make any difference. If one of you is getting the EIC, then could help or hurt depending on the amount of income.

Don't decide whether or not to get married because of tax considerations. That is the least of your worries!

generally helps
if she is not working and you file jointly, then you get tax rebates

however if both of you earn a lot and move to a higher tax bracket, it might hurt
