you feel all tired and want to sleep, can anyone explain why that happens?

rising and falling blood sugar levels cause lethargy, drowsiness, etc. after large meals or high carb meals low in proteins and fats.

serum glucose (blood sugar) increases, insulin is secreted to clear serum glucose. very large meals or very high cal meals cause insulin levels to spike. this causes blood sugar to be cleared very rapidly and the body ends up in a hypoglycemic state (low blood sugar).

When you eat a meal (particularly a meal with a lot of sugars or simple carbohydrates) you blood sugar goes up and when this happens your body compensates but producing insulin.

If there is a big spike in blood sugar then a lot of insulin is produced creating a sleepy feeling. Also a lot of your blood goes to the digestive organs to help with digestion further robbing you of energy.

Desserts are the culmination of a big meal, and yes bring about a feeling of contentment and satisfaction. I do not feel drowsy.

Digesting food requires large amounts of oxygen to digest. (your digestive system has a whole lot of muscle in it). Your body can only take in so much oxygen so there is not enough spare oxygen to be active. This is why if you exercise much after eating you get a stitch in your side (from the digestive system not getting enough oxygen when it needs it). So your body, if possible, doesn't want you to be active after eating as it needs to digest, so you get tired.

1) due to blood deficiency.
2) when you eat more and your stomach have no enough secretions to digest that food you have taken.
3) when you drink more water during meal or after meal .in this way flautiness increases. always drink water before taking meal.

Well, thats because when you eat alot, your body has to work extra hard to digest it. Especially if its unhealthy food.
