Why not direct your hostility towards the Spanish? After all, they're the ones who foisted upon the Mestizos the language that you now call 'native.'

Republicans lost for many reasons but a much larger percentage of the limited immigration coalition in the House was returned to their office than the percentage of Republicans overall.
In an otherwise tie, it can be a determining issue. It may not be a silver bullet.
And as for Arizona, look at the Propositions passed to require ID to vote, to eliminate benefits to illegal immigrants, to make English the official language, etc. Most passed with a vote of 2 to one, some with a vote of 3 to 1. According to exit polls, 40% of Latino voters voted for Proposition 200 to eliminate benefits.

That congress the dem's took now has an 11% approval rating. Over 70% oppose illegal immigration, many of them Spanish-speaking non-whites.
It wasn't racist for non-British to side with the descendants of England AGAINST the crown in the American Revolution.
See, just TRYING to center it along racial lines is confusing. It has NOTHING to do with race. Just ask my American friends (of latino-descent) who are more furious than anyone else about illegals.

racism has nothing to do with illegals...we are not bashing a "race" we are bashing people that come illegally to our country, live illegally in our country, work illegally in our country, steal our taxes, welfare, health care and yet alot of them end up in jail using even more of our resources and we are not "anti-immigrant" we are "anti-illegal immigrant" there is a huge difference, my wife is mexican and a conservative republican...her mom was an illegal immigrant trust me i know the difference...u hippy wanna-bes need to pull yer heads out and realize the differences and if u had any common sense and any clue about these issues...a good quick case in point and 1 im familiar with is her mother worked in cali for 13 years sending every bit of money she could back home (mexico) to her sister to hold for her well long story short she went back and her sister had spent everything she had sent back...kind of an ironic end but its a prime example of how illegal immigrants work..im not saying they all do this but alot of them do...if it works like its supposed to then its a great retirement plan for them

No one is bashing Latinos. But most everyone is against illegals not matter where they come from. Being against illegal immigration is not racist. It is being against someone ignoring the laws. Nice try.

What a sad day for this country that we have to bend the immigrations laws of this country so that Hispanics both illegal and illegal think they are entitled to break our laws so that can get what they want

Yeah so how do the people of Arizona feel about slave labor?
Come on be fair, call it what it really is "Slave labor"
This is the only reason Democrat would want to keep it, you know it's kinda like the south did win the Civil War.
