How can a vet tell if a dog is 3 weeks pregnant? The same way a vet can tell if a dog's leg is broken! It's called EDUCATION! DUH

If she has been tired a lot and is not acting as she normally does, why wouldn't you take her to the vet anyway?!! Maybe it's a pregnancy -- or maybe she is ill! Dogs can get parvo, kidney disease, cancer, and a host of other problems. Grow up! This is part of the responsibility of pet ownership. Get your dog to the vet! How hard is that? The VET will give you a diagnosis - not unqualified strangers on the internet who have never even SEEN your dog, let alone examined her!

She is probably pregnant if there was a tie. It will be hard for your vet to tell if she is pregnant at this stage. Mid term, your vet can palpate or do an ultrasound and give you an idea of how many puppies she will have so you can prepare. Just like people, dogs will become fatigued and sleep alot. She won't show right away because the pups will be tucked under her ribs. If her rib cage expands...this is an early clue she's pregnant. Close to the time she will whelp, she will drop and then you will really be able to tell. It's best to act like she is pregnant. At about 4 weeks...you should feed her puppy food and make sure she is well nourished. There are many things to consider when having a litter of puppies. You have time to read up on having litters and educate yourself on what to do. Your vet can also give you some advice. I highly recommend spaying her after this litter.

Yes they can, she's approaching mid term. They may have to ultrasound to be sure, but by this time they will be able to fee the thickening of the uterus. Very likely your dog is pregnant - please get her spayed once the pups are weaned, think of her future health! And be sure to flea and worm her throughout her pregancy.
