I am a single, straight, 28 year old male. I will soon be done with graduate school and will have some free time to try dating for real! I have gone on maybe 2 dates in my entire life with two different girls. After each date I felt that I was simply too young and much too busy (they took place when I was 23). I was wondering if starting later in life than most people would be an impediment or not; I haven't even had my first kiss yet! I mean, I have friends that are getting married younger than I am, let alone dating. The truth is, I really have no interest in having a girlfriend or getting married and/or having children. I am quite happy living at home with my parents and other adult siblings. I work full time and go to school for my masters part time. The reason I bring up the dating thing is people suggest it is a positive experience. What do you think? Should I even bother dating since finding a romantic relationship isn't very important to me.

You really do need a hobby you are as tight as a screw and bolt.

Well, it might be worth the experiment. And what do you have to loose? It's worth a try.
It's interesting by the way, that you are actually not interested in dating or building up a relationship. But as long as this is purely out of your heart, and not out of an escapism, then that might be just fine for you. Every bird has his own feathers.
Most people actually do want a partner, and become frustrated when they don't have one, but there are still enough people on this planet who honestly do feel fine without one.
I do wonder about one thing though; what will happen if your parents are no longer there, and your siblings have there own life as well? Wouldn't you miss a partner?
But anyway, to complete the circle in my answer, what do you have to loose? Give it a try, you already know how it is to be without somebody, maybe it's interesting for you to experiment with some romance or friendship, or just a nice night out.

Good luck, and if you do start dating, enjoy and have fun!

look you should get into the dating world becuz once u get into a relationship where u have true feelings for some1, ur mind will change and u will want to be with them and mayb have kids. ur gonna realize that u want to be with some1 that cares for u and truelly loves u and some1 who isnt ur parents. get out into the dating world. give urself a life besides skool and work, that gets boring. everyone needs excitement in their lives and plus u havent even had ur first kiss. do u really want to live ur life never knowing what it feels like to kiss a girl or to even be with a girl who loves u? think about it and i think ull do the right thing and just try getting into the dating world. good luck.
