Matthew 7: 13-14

(13) - Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it.
(14) - For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and FEW are those who find it.

About verse 14; if "the gate is small, the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it", then how come roughly a third of the world(a couple billion people) calls itself Christian, and believes that it is going to heaven? If you ask me, a couple billion people isn't few... Is it possible that you haven't truly found the true way yet?

Just to tell you my beliefs, I believe that about 5% of everyone in the U.S. who calls themselves Christians are actually going to be in heaven. Are you a part of that 5%? That's the question I'd be asking right now.

If you're not aware, it goes on to say "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are thy? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits."

Do you have good fruit?

Yes,....very true...many "think they have" ...search the scriptures, for in them you "think" you have eternal life" for they are they which testify of me...Jesus was conveying a "life-style" and few that would actually accept it or grab hold of it...and continue to the end...it is a fact, that, many who call themselves christian, will not make it in...everybody "thinks" they will, but, sorry.... and this is a fact..(not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, ...) "Peace!"

YES!!!!! There are so many people who have been sent a strong delusion and believed a lie. That's strsaight out of the Bible.Compared to the amount of the people on earth but a remnant will be saved. I'm so happy you can see what I see. See upci.org for a good website. Acts 2:38-9 is the simple plan of salvation. Why people make it so hard. I will never undestand.

Just because people say they are Christians doesn't mean they are in The Book of Life. You must be born-again and when you are you won't be worried about getting into Heaven God will send the Holy Spirit down upon your heart and you will know it for a fact! Pray and let Jesus into your heart and you will be filled with the Peace of Christ.

Just because one claims to follow a faith doesn't mean they actually do. In Christianity that is even more important because it isn't the outward expression of faith that counts, but the inward belief of the heart. Even though there are "2 billion" "Christians" in the world, you might have perhaps a quarter of those who actually believe, maybe. And that's a pretty loose estimate.

There are roughly 6 billion people on the earth. So, 1/3 of them is a few.

"Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of My Father."

Just because that many people "call" themselves Christian, doesn't mean they really are.

God has His own list of Christians. It's called the Lamb's Book of Life.

What do you make your assumption of 5% on, dear one? Do you actually judge everyone's heart who claims he/she is Christian? I personally choose to leave that up to my Creator.

And yes, the way IS narrow and few walk that path. Being Christian is not easy, particularly these days with folks like the ACLU trying to abolish Christianity and silence Christians. But God's Word will prevail, no matter what any human does.

That's what faith is all about!
God bless!

no. its saying that the road to hell is wide and broad and the way to heaven is narrow. only 4% of my generation in the u.s. will grow up to be true christians who seek after god. thats not exactly alot. and the 'christians' category include mormons, jehovahs witnesses, and alot of other weird denominations. ive found the way.

Many Christians believe they will go to heaven because if you are good but not good enough you got purgatory which is a state of repentance that is not in heaven or hell and can last for however long you need to repent and be made holy. Then you go to heaven. You cant go from purgatory to hell either.

well, when i finally extricated myself from Christianity i found there was no "narrow gate", no fences to confine me, no shepherd to herd me to fleecing and to slaughter. i became a free human being with a spiritual vista as open and expansive as the universal sky instead of a herd animal confined to a pen, a sheep counted and tagged as i'm shoved through a narrow gate.

PS. the condition of my fruit is just fine, thank you but i do wonder if your god appointed you as the spiritual fruit inspector. kinda like the FDA?
