That feeling would be called "lust" not "love".

Love is actually something you do, not feel.

According to most people, yes.

I'm turkish, and a very popular book we have in Turkey that most of my friends know is somehow not known much in the US. It is by Erich Fromm, a very wise psychologist, and the book is called "The Art Of Loving".

It is not a romantic book, and it is not about techniques in bed either. Not at all...

It is somewhat philosophical, and a psychological analysis of friendly, motherly, fatherly, and sexual love (oh, and even love of god; being an atheist, I almost forgot).

He distinguishes between the "sudden feeling of falling in love" without knowing someone (you could also call this infatuation), and the act of "loving" that involves knowing that person well.

It's easier to imagine someone perfect without knowing her. The less you know, the more you can project onto her an image of perfection, and you can imagine she's the person you have been dreaming of.

Fromm also says we imagine we are very capable of loving, only if we could find that one person that's perfect for us, we would randomly become experts in the act of loving.

He warns that we focus too much on the object of love, and ignore the ability to love, which, like any other, can only be gained by practice. You can't spontaneously become a painter, singer, actor, nor a lover.

Many men are more visual, and this excitement you have for her may carry on as you know her more. I would highly recommend trying to spend some time with her. Love may develop.

Infatuation? As bad as that sounds, it still is a really beautiful feeling.

Welcome to the roller coaster ride of emotions!
Hold on tight, you don't want to fall off!

Enjoy the ride!
