Allot of viruses hide it restore points, so try this. Open "System Restore" Right click My Computer/Properties/System Restore, and turn the feature off. Now reboot into Safe Mode and run your anti virus software again. If it picks up the virus, you're in good shape. If not, you may need to do a complete "wipe and reload" of you operating system and programs.

I'm assuming you have a good antivirus program like Norton. If you do, try running it in Safe Mode. This way, Windows will not be loaded and you can (hopefully) catch any self executable files.

When you finish running the AV software, you will "exit" to Windows. Your desktop icons will probably be out of order. No biggee. Just drag them back.

In case you're not familiar with Safe Mode:
Restart your computer to get to Safe Mode:
-> Power on or Restart
>>>As soon as you see the system trying to load (it will probably be black and white)
>>>and before Windows tries to load,
>>>press and hold the F8 key.
>>>Continue holding F8 down until you see a black and white DOS menu. I think Safe Mode is F3.

Click Start, Run. Run your AV program.

have you tried restoring to a previous time.go into control panel, backup and restore,and at bottom use system restore. you should get asked when u want to restore to-it'll give you a previous save point and pick one that is before you downloaded said program. this will not alter any files you've saved but it will fix any changes made to your settings back to the date you choose.once you do that run a virus check again.

Those programs almost ALWAYS contain malware or viruses of some sort. Don't use them!
A pal of mine had a similar prb - he had to kill (and re-install) the whole system to get rid of it.
