The rule is that when you are introducing your friends to somebody, and there are for example just 1 guy and 5 or more or less girls, you say:MIS AMIGOS. If there are just girls, you want to introduce, you say: MIS AMIGAS.
There you see how much power the male has even on the grammar of English (sorry, just my comment)!

mis amigos - if the friends are all male, or a mixed gender group.
Mis amigas - if they're all girls.
You only use "mi" for "my" if a singular noun follows, eg mi amigo - my friend.

I think this may help you. To say "These are my friends sally and bob" You would say in spanish " Éstos son mis amigos sally y bob" and if you want to say boy it's Chico and girl is Chica * pronounced cheek-o and cheek-ah* and woman is Hermana and man is Hombre *pronounced air-man-a and o-m-bre*

its mis amigos
even if ther is a boy and a girl, it always takes the plural masculine term....like parents are mis padres...(padre is father, madre is mother)
if it was just girls, it wud be mis amigas
my friend (boy) = mi amigo
my friend (girl) = mi amiga
my friends (boy and girl) = mis amigos
ok =D

when introducing a boy and a girl, its mis amigos. if there is one boy and a group of ladies, it's still mis amigos because there is at least one boy. like english, you would say 'hey guys' if there was at least one boy, but you would say 'hey girls' if there was all girls.
