Did you get a job? I did :-) . Call your boss and say " ya. I need to go to the eye doctor today" Your boss"why whats wrong?" then you say " Cause I cant see me coming back to work" LOL. .

Sorry, no joke answer here. The honest truth is that there is no good reason not to contact your office and let them know if you won't be in -even if it is only one day, or ever again.
Everyone has access to a phone, email or texting these days, and bosses know it. Bite the bullet and let them know.

u have a little throat thing going on an u fear it could be an infection and u've scheduled as appointment with the doctor tmw (or tthe day that u are not going to wrk).

The thing's, they can't verify that. Are they gonna ask u to open your throat or what? Note from the Dr? Well, u can always say u felt better before u could get to him after u took Aleve or something.
