with 'reckless praying'? Or is it just selective results that matter? When there is a bad car crash and one of the people somehow survive, why do the people say it was God that saved them? What about the other people that died? Is God that callous and selective ?

The satire behind this question is quite humurous...but the notion that prayer acctually works is irrational.

You're basically asking the same, tired old question: why does God let bad things happen to good people? It's been answered so many times, even the answers are tired and old.

It comes down to this: God is sovereign, and you are not. Death appears callous to you, because your perspective is singular, and coincides with your bad attitude. God's perspective is infinite, and so is his wisdom. And his attitude is an attitude of pure love. Just know that death is not an end for the one dying. It only looks like an end to those of us left alive. Know that the life you live on earth, from the perspective of the afterlife, is so insignificant, that it looks like a blink of an eye, and, in fact, you won't even recall that you had a life on earth when you're there. So, no worries. (Unless you're not going to heaven - then you have worries.)

You're kidding, aren't you?
Look in the law books. You know very well that there is no such thing as reckless praying.

You are also wrong in your supposition that "the people say it was God that saved them.' Not everyone says this. You are basing your whole premise on what SOME people might say.

You are making a faulty generalization.

God is not callous.

One person might die and another might not because of the extent of the injuries.

YOU are the one with the problem because you listen to people who are NOT perfect and who are NOT all-knowing.

Do you see the difference?

Typically is referred to as an Act of God. People have no control over the earth's atmosphere.

I'm not sure if you really care about any answer you may get. Your question is really silly.
God is certainly there listening and answering our prayers, but He has given us free will, so we are allowed by Him to make mistakes or wrong decisions.
Your prayer would not be respomsible for any flooding. Do you think for one moment that you are that powerful, and can control God? Because God will do what He will do, and all we can do is pray about it.
I believe that every prayer is answered but not always the way we thought it would be.
Just trust Him and keep praying!

i'll be honest from the start... i'm athiest. but all of my family is christian. [[and the following are my personal beliefs.. they are in no way at all what i expect you or anyone else to believe]]

personally, and from personal experience...
i think alot of it is coincidence..

but..

some people put every ounce of their faith in "God" so-much-so, that they honestly believe that he is the cause of everything that happens....

and maybe that's true, but...

we can't manipulate the size of storms [[or who is dumb enough to go out in the big ones]]

but if you are christian and believe in "wreckless praying" then there would be alot of guilty people in jail... [[including kids in juvy]]

so, no there's no "wreckless praying charges".
and if people believe it, then "God" did save them...

it's basically how people mold "God" in their minds.

No, because the U.S. is backed by a materialist philosophy that would render your 'act of god' as purely coincidental.

its hard to say. i think god chose a path for you to live. to help someone or do something. that's why we were all chose to be on this earth at this certain time to fulfill something a purpose that changes someone elses life. god can't control everything but maybe he didn't save the others because that person may have already forefilled their purpose for being on this earth. you never know

You sure have a lot of power! LOL!

You CAN be charged with a crime. Maybe not in today's western world, but if you publicized your claim enough times, you will get someone to blame you... and punish you.
