My daughter has them and she is a Christian.
I worry more about how she treats her fellow man than what she adorns her body with.

She is a good Christian, who happens to like tattoos and I see nothing wrong with it.

Balla,

Here's what St. Paul wrote:

1 Corinthians 3:17: If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

1 Corinthians 6:19: Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?

Suppose a church had an image of Christ painted by Caravaggio or Leonardo, and someone added a decoration in indelible ink. Wouldn't that be a terrible crime?

Your body is made by God, an artist infinitely greater than Caravaggio or Leonardo.

Cheers.

No.
We are not to mark our bodies. It is a social fad that some believers have been caught up in. Not what God wants us to do.
My 27-year-old son has tattoos and spent a year in China on a mission. Many of the Chinese asked him how he could be a Christian and have tattoos and he had no answer.
It is social... don't do it, you have a long life ahead of you.

If you take your fellowship with Jesus seriously, dear one, you will understand that our bodies are God's temple. Therefore, to allow them to be marred by a method that originates from pagans is a real disgrace.

Our individuality is to be our personalities, not making our skin look like we belong to some pagan cult.

Please think this through thoroughly before you sink to that level.

God bless!

I once had a psychic tell me that since I was a Christian, I shouldn' get a tattoo. I didn't. It was good that I didnt at that time, because I didn't really know what I wanted and would have gone with some design from the wall of the tattoo place. Now I know the design I want, and it has great meaning for me.
I love that story! - BTW, I wasn't wearing a cross, or carrying a bible. I was drunk in New Orleans. And somehow she knew it wasn't right for me at that time.

I believe it is up to your conscience. If you feel bad about it or anything then you shouldn't do it. If you are fine with it then go ahead. I don't think God will be angry with anyone over a tattoo. He is more concerned with the condition of our hearts than anything.

If you are into new testament only then it is ok.
If on the other hand you are into the old testament then it is a taboo.
The old testament forbids writing on your body..!!

Why not? People cut their hair, put on makeup, wear jewelry, workout, get dental cleanings...all to create their appearance. What's the difference?
