Put a Windows CD into the CD drive and restart the computer. During the installation there is a screen that asks if you want to install Windows now. A little farther down it gives instructions on deleting and creating a partition. Follow these instructions. After you have created a new primary partition, Windows will want to format this partition. Do a "long" format. When Windows has completed the formatting, it will then begin loading.

Before you begin the above it would be a good idea to locate any drivers that you are going to need. The first drivers that you will want to install will be for the mother board. Without the mother board drivers installed your mother board will not have sound, usb, or an active RJ45 port.

Skip the deleting part since formatting is the same thing (backup any important files first) so it's basically just sticking in your windows cd, booting from it and choosing to install it (there'll be options to format during the install process).

Follow the guide below for XP since it has more details which are important (especially if you have sata drives etc.)....

well if you don't want to save any files, then it's easy because you don't have to back anything up.
just grab a windows install disk and reformat your hard drive and reinstall windows. put the windows install disc into your cd-rom drive and reboot. some options should come up. choose to reformat.
make sure that your computer doesn't have a restore option. If it does, you probably have a restore partition (usually on your d drive) that you can restore windows to factory settings from there without the windows disc.
