Mpeg4 OR mp4 is very different from avi.
avi is another format from mp4, in mp4, u can download to ur psp/ipod, not with avi.
there are converters that u mite have to buy to convert avi-mp4.
id recommend mp4 better.

MPEG-4(MP4) is an advanced DVD format whereas AVI is an older Video format. Both are different. MP-4 is more clear graphics and visuals. You can download ANY Video convertor for conversion. or. You can install Quick Time to view MPEG-4. AVI can be viewed in WMPlayer with some correct CODECS installation, you can get from Google search.

No they are not same, they are both video formats but MPEG, is very optimized compressed format. AVI is an older format, most people don't like to use it nowadays, you are better off with MPEG.

mp4 is mp4 and avi is avi. you need to convert the video using a conversion program like quicktime, or import the video into itunes and it will convert the video.
