I buy fancy catnip mice, mice that vibrate and do tricks and Iggy totally ignores them. What does he play with? a brown paper bag, twistie ties from bread wrappers and the plastic rings from milk jugs! sheesh!

Exactly. My cats are both almost 2 years old now and one likes to play with a laser mouse and bottle caps. Other than that, they have their made up games. Zelda plays the plastic strings on the back of the kitchen bar stool/chairs like a harp. Also they like to crawl under small throw rugs and drive them around like cars. Their favorite plaything is the collapsible mesh laundry hamper. One cat gets inside while the other pounces and sometimes drags it around. They play hide and seek with each other, and still like to pounce on feet and fingers moving under the covers. The laser mouse is the only toy I bought for them that they like. Those little balls and feathered things are more interesting to my niece's and cousin's kids than they are to the cats.

I don't have any cats right now, but have had a number of them over the years, and their favorite toys are inevitably the ones that don't cost anything, like you mentioned. I even taught the last two cats I "owned" to fetch by crumbling a piece of paper into a ball and tossing it across the room. They will generally chase after it and remain interested in it until it stops moving, then will usually bat it around towards your general direction, so you can pick it up and make it move again.

Another amusing toy that requires your interaction is a piece of string tied to the end of a stick. Just hold the other end of the stick and dangle it just out of their reach. Or maybe even better, tie the twistie or milk jug ring to the end of the string, for endless hours of amusement.

properly from experience i would not advise the fish poles with the feather on the top of it, my cat enjoyed it lots he pulled the feathers out, I positioned it away using fact it became into broken, i did no longer realize it yet he got here across it ate the little plastic adapter off the place the feathers have been and 3 days later he became into heavily ill, I rushed him to the vet and the xray confirmed that little plastic adapter . for sure he mandatory a distant places physique removing surgical treatment. So in my domicile the only ideal toy for my cats to play with it a crumpled up piece of computing device paper.

I do the same thing. My guys play with lotto tickets rolled up in balls. I play the lotto not to win, but to give the cats something to play with. The paper their printed on is perfect for cat toys. Holds it's shape and can handle a little cat drool.

Iggy is a great name for a cat. I love it!!

My cat attacks my leather shoes.

As far as catnip goes, I have a little plastic tub with holes poked into it and the cats push that around all day ling

My cats didn't really fancy all those toy mice also. But strings, any types of strings (shoe string, trouser strings etc.) and they'll play once I wave one at them. Never fails.

One of my cats loves to play with a stick too.
