Because its love for humanity that breaks your heart, there are so many kinds of love...if your heart breaks when you see people crying over their lost ones, and suffering like the victims of 9-11 or Hurricane Katrina, evey season there seems to be a massive devestation in one area of the globe or another...it also reminds you that you have a heart, some people forget that other people feel pain and love and gratitude just like we do.

The only time you ever really open up your heart to someone and let them be close to you is when you love them. If someone dies or breaks up with you, it just shatters your heart. In no other case can this happen.

Because only true love opens your heart in the first place. Only when your heart is open can it be broken. The human heart must be broken from within.

Love has more emotional investment in it than in other areas of ones life. When one invests that much of themselves, they open themselves totally, let the armor down and therefore leave themselves more open to being damaged if things should go awry.
