I have been reading alot of different questions and answers from people claiming they believe the bible as a record of facts and in the very next statement contradict themselves. I have read the entire bible from cover to cover a few times and some things in it are very specific, yet appears to not be of any importance, such as how to pray and what to pray for.

If the dead sea scrolls prove the bible, why are all the books NOT included that were discovered?

There were many, possibly 40, "books" that were never included in the bible. Mark wrote at least 4 "gospels" that they know of, but only one was included in the "bible". The others were inconvenient for what they were trying to accomplish, much like the writings of Thomas. Constantine couldn't consolodate an empire with those writings and the church couldn't make money if you read and adheared to those writings.

The Bible has many contradictions, to compare,
for the mixing of contrary things is an oxymoron.

The Bible does NOT think for you.
The Bible DOES make you think;
So in the end you all do not stink.
Purpose: "our learning": Rom 15:4.

The Dead Sea is now rapidly "vanish"-ing.
So should "dead" sea scrolls found there.

The Holy Bible may speak of Holy vs Holy,
but in the end it isn't Holy Holy, but "Holy".

Law is holy, but also unholy.
Grace is holy, never unholy.
So then we'll go with Grace.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Sorry love, the dead sea scrolls do not prove the bible. They are only early copies of parts of the old testament. Therefore there is nothing of the new testament , which is what the christians claim to follow..!!

esoteric
–adjective
1.understood by or meant for only the select few who have special knowledge or interest; recondite: poetry full of esoteric allusions.
2.belonging to the select few.
3.private; secret; confidential.
4.(of a philosophical doctrine or the like) intended to be revealed only to the initiates of a group: the esoteric doctrines of Pythagoras.

When we are talking about God, the true one which is revealed in the Bible; there are only a select few in the world compared to the numbers that are and have been here who are meant to understand Him.

Those who wrote it are inspired by the Holy Spirit, and those who correctly interpret it are inspired by the Holy Spirit, and those who respond to it are inspired by the Holy Spirit.

All others are not supposed to understand it or value it - the Holy Spirit is not allowing that connection to be made.

No surprise here, because the Holy Spirit wasn't only to work with believers, but also with non believers ( John 16:7 - 11) , because God raises some in this world to destroy.
( Romans 9:10 - 15; 21 )

So God keeps the evidence of Himself to those who are chosen. Many are called but few are chosen. As Jesus said:

Matthew 13:13
This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand."

Great question- it seems that people in power pick out parts they believe pertain to their best interests-then sweep under the carpet everything else.
All religions should be treated like a Brothers Grimm story, enjoyable upon first encounter-then the novelty wears off like a used condom from a 1 dollar whore in Baghdad.

If the bible is statement of fact, why are there so many versions?

Can there really be versions of the truth?

If these people can't even agree among them selves about this stuff, how do they expect the rest of us to believe it?

Love and blessings Don

Go try and read the book Beuwolf. People back then understood it perfectly, but now it would be rather hard to read. Times change, language changes, people change. It's inevitable.

Back then the Bible made perfect sense, and people understood it. But because the times have changed, along with language, it's a lot harder to read for us.

Let us put it this way, if you liked things the way they are, what would you do with something that contradicted it? That showed a BETTER way?

Of course you would try to change what it means if you can't change the words themselves! Truth is false, gray is bright, false is true.

it's not a doubt that you're reading the Bible from cover to cover. the point is...are you getting an understanding? the Bible doesn't contradict itself but as you can see it is often misunderstood.

The bible is an ancient book of myths and morality tales.
It should not be taken literally under any circumstances.
