You need to find a new mechanic. You're being taken to the cleaners. I have a 98 Caravan and I've never changed the rotors. I always purchase the highest quality pad at Advanced Auto and those pads frequently last more than a year. I hope you're not taking it to the dealer. Dealers are notorious for raping customers. If you want to pay 3 or 4 times what a job should cost, by all means go to the dealer.
