I want to lose weight and am thinking of starving myself. I haven't eaten now for 27 hours and I'm really really hungry. But I'm feeling a little bit thinner so I think its working. How long can I go without being ill?

JACKIE!!!! Babe please eat some food! Do you know how dangerous that is? Not eating is called being anorexic. And throwing up what you eat is called being bulimic and neither things are good for you. Did you actually know that being one of those two things actually makes you fatter then skinner in the beginning stages. I would know i was bulimic during my 7th grade year. It's no fun and it doesn't help you become skinny.

You could probably last about a few days if you are really starving your self ( i mean NO food once so ever). But if you are having a snack hare and their then you could probably last longer.

But Jackie please eat because your body is supposed to have food to fill it up. If you want to get thinner then go to the gym and work out or something. Take up a sport like soccer or gymnastics (i do gymnastics!). Those things help you slim down without starving yourself and they also give you some muscle as well. Being tone and bigger than some people is MUCH better than being mega skinny and being able to see your ribs. Now thats what i call unatractive.

PLEASE EAT SOME FOOD!! Jackie their is nothing in the world that i want less that is to find out that you died from not eatting (yes that can happen). And i know that you are proubaly thinking that i'm crazying and are thinking that you wont let your self get that far but it is just like drugs you get addicted to not eatting and your body cant stop it's self.

The sikinner that you get the fatter you'll see yourself in the mirror. You'll be mega selfconches and wount beable to go a hour (ha. make that 10 minuites) without worring that you look fat or thinking about food. And that's not thiness that you feel that's HUNGER!

The problem with this is that by starving yourself you're not only avoiding fatty foods but also nutrients that you need to survive.

And if you haven't eaten for 27, you're not thinner yet. It takes time for your body to start feeding off it's own fat.

1. Main problem with the starving theory is that when you do start eating again, your body will fear that you will starve it again, so it will store everything.

2. Exercise is the key to all weight loss. Only like 40% of diets work without exercise and only 10% of those people can keep the weight off.

3. Are you even overweight? Find out your BMI and go from there. If you are really way overweight, how about consulting with your doctor. Most medically supervised diets that work.

4. If you insist on starving yourself, take some vitamins. You can start blacking out and your heart can stop if certain vitamins and minerals are too low. Also eat an orange or something, your blood needs the natural sugar.

I'm going to bet that eating a moderate diet and exercise would work best for you. As a sister of a surving anni, starving yourself is just going to end with you in the hospital with IVs.

i have been through so many groups of friends you would not believe. i began to think that i was a horrible person because nobody wanted me. i've made mistakes but all i could do was learn from them and become a better person. no more childishness and no more idiots in my life. at the end of the day you can be who you want to be. if you feel you need to be less selfish and more aware of people around you then do that. if you want to be thin again then work your butt off to ge back there. don't forget who you used to be before all this happened. it's so easy to get in a state where you don't even know who you are anymore and you get sick of yourself and would do anything to be someone else. when i had no friends i would just sit in my room and let my anger out in there and cry and punch everything so every time i went into my room i was reminded of how i felt so i redecorated my room. so basically you just have to start over. maybe you don't like yourself because you don't think you should be allowed to like yourself because you're a selfish person. but you're not selfish you're just self critical.

Look, stop it. You may think "Oh, once I feel sick, I'll stop" but you WON'T, you'll keep on doing it. It will become an obsession, an addiction. You will become petrified of food if you aren't already. Eating a crumb can even freak you out. You will not want to stop because you will be looking in the mirror like, "hey! this thing works!" It's working alright sweetie, you're starving yourself to death!!! If you starve yourself, your kidneys will begin to shut down, your hair will fall out, you'll be freezing all the time and UR body will start functioning weird.

Your body will eat it self>Muscles first fat last> Best eat something exercise or the calcium in your bones and teeth will get bad>Get on a diet that is healthy and will keep you going losing weight takes time like putting it on>Be safe & healthy > Your idea is a deastor looking for a place to happen>Get some good advise as your choice was not good advice>

I had a surgery and wasn't able to eat for about 2 weeks before I got seriously ill. About 2 weeks after that was back in the hospital and was unable to eat for a good 3-4 weeks. I ended up needing lipids and nutrients.

That is really dangerous. How long can you go on without dying? It depends on your metabolism. Please eat. Don't stuff your face, just eat a snack and work your way back up to eating normally again.

First, your body will go after the ATP, as it usually does. When they run dry, it goes after lipids (fats). Lipids give you firm, healthy skin. When your body completely depletes its supply of lipids, it goes to the 3rd and last source: muscle. When your body starts eating muscle, you are in danger of dying. You will look starved and bony. Not pretty. A lot like Holocaust victims in those forced labor camps.

Eating healthier, small portions frequently, and exercise will make you lose fat and gain muscle. (that's good)

You're already ill. It's never ok to starve yourself to lose weight. Ever.

Please reconsider your diet, instead of starving yourself stock up on fruits and vegetables and snack on those instead of things like chips and cookies. Do light exercises every other morning to firm muscles.

And stop the starving, it's a vicious cycle once you start.

Don't starve yourself! It's harmful to your body and doesn't make you lose weight fast.
Best thing to do is eat less, eat more often and eat healthier. Also exercise at least 30 minutes a day.

Don't cut out food completely because if you don't eat at all your body doesn't actually use reserved fat, it actually saves it and slowly uses it to make it last longer so you survive longer.

that is the absolute worst way to lose weight

try eating only light things (such as yogurt, fruits and veggies), natural foods (stay away from processed foods), and drink plenty of juice loaded with vitamins.
you have to have some nutrition going into your body every day
