Dale's contract is for 5 years (I think) but do you think he should work toward developing his own engines and maybe selling those engines to other teams?

As a business move it's always a fall-back for JR Motorsports and a business opportunity to sell engines to other racing organizations in the cup series and Nationwide (Busch) series.

What do yo think?

Sure, as many motors as Junior blew this year, ya think anyone is gonns buy a motor from this man? If his engine building is as good as his driving, he'll go bust the first season, along with whatever teams buy motors from him.
Hey on the other hand maybe he could supply Earnhardt Junior motors to Jeff and Jimmy., That'll fix em!

Out of respect for Hendrick and dedication to his carrer. Junior should concentrate on the job at hand, and regaining his status as a racer. He has plenty to learn and plenty of time to do that. He doesn't need a conflict of interest at this juncture in his career. After his contract is up he will be much wiser and will have gained more knowledge and his family relationships will be more stable etc. There should never be a rush to business if it's not going to be based on a solid foundation. So my answer to your question would be no.

Right now he is just going to concentrate on driving and winning..Hendrick and Jr Motorsports are sharing equipment next yr in Nationwide so that venture is in the works already..He has plenty of time later down the road. He needs to concentrate on winning races and get a championship or two before he does anything else.. I'm sure someday he would like to have Jr Motorsports in the big Cup series..Wouldn't that be something JR Motorsports up against DEI in Cup racing..,

Jr should do one thing-act like an employee and concentrate on driving. Period. Many are into engine developing, why have another headache? Maybe in ten years he could consider that.

If NASCAR doesn't get it's shite together there won't be NASCAR.

He's a race car driver. He's not an engineer or mechanic.
Besides, he could buy one that's already developed. I would expect that would be more likely.
