Young Earth creationism is the religious belief that the Earth and life on Earth were created by a direct act of God dating between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago. Its adherents are Christians or Jews who believe that God created the Earth in six 24-hour days, taking the Hebrew text of Genesis as a literal account.
This is an official acknowledgement I received -: Is it true or false I am not pushing an extreme view and causing unnecessary confrontation - please understand !!
And I also dont look forward for any ready made or self acknowledged theologians who will tell me the days could symbolize long ages - please ! I know its not , just put your self a century back by stripping all modern science and technological knowledge - and answer it

The belief that the earth (and the universe) was created no more than 10,000 years ago has zero scientific support. This belief system requires the believer to completely disregard basic laws of physics - which is fine if that's your belief.
One thing you should keep in mind. When God told Moses about the creation and Adam and Eve, the story is more about the lineage of Moses than about how God created the world. The entire creation took 24 verses of Genesis. Thats 24 verses out of the entire account of Genesis' 50 chapters. It would seem to me that if it mattered that he created it in 6 24 hour periods that he would have devoted more time to the subject. It seems that he just gave the bare minimum to introduce Adam and Eve which is where the real story begins.
Believe in the 24 hour periods. It says 'days' in the bible. But also be careful about interpreting the entire bible literally. Many parts are intended metaphores. That may have been one of them.

I have to agree with Travelling Pete - yeah, he's an Atheist, and I'm a Theist; live with it. I believe you have to take the biblical account word for word, or not believe at all. But that's just what I believe, and I also believe that it was six literal days. I don't know if they were 24 hours, or 23, or 26, or what ever. In the end, does it really matter?
I believe in a god who could create all of creation in 6 literal days, not a god who let evolution take its course then took all the credit. But that's my choice.
6 days, 6000 years... look, mankind wasn't there for the first five-sixths of it, so we don't know what happened in that period first hand. And Adam and Eve had more important things on their mind than "Hey, God, how long did it really take?" Moses was more concerned with leading the Israelites - both physically and spiritually - than with asking "This 'Garden of Eden' thing you want me to write - how old is the world, really?"
Personally I view it this way - I believe what I believe for the reasons I have given. You can believe what you believe for what reasons you have. In the end, it is of no real importance. It doesn't change the actual age of the Earth, it won't inspire anyone to change their religious beliefs, and it won't help me grow closer to Christ. And if you are a true Christian, then that is what is important.

Yes Genesis is to be taken literally, but 24 hour days apply only on earth. Why do people insist on applying too simple human standards to the universe?
2 Peter 3:8 plainly states that one of God's days can be 1,000 of our years not 24 hours. A creative day was longer. Humans were created near the end of the 6th day. We know man has been here at least 6,000 years of recorded history. God will not take over again until after Christ's 1,000 year reign. That means the 7th creative day lasts 7,000 years. This does not count the time between the creative days from one ending and another beginning.

Not all Christians are on the YEC bandwagon. The Bible says that to God one day can be like a thousand years and a thousand years like a single day. He is "other than" time, which he created for man. So it's not even an issue.
The important thing is, we're here now, today, on earth. What are we doing with it? Are we being good to the planet that feeds and shelters us, or are we destroying it to make money as fast as we can?
Put the human back in being.

Consider the following facts. A completely different account of creation was recorded by John, the author of the book of revelation, in The Apocryphon of John. This text, and others, remained sealed in a jar in the desert for thousands of years before being recovered, translated, and published in the past 50 years. Both, Moses account in Genesis, and Jesus accounts cannot possibly be true. To date no one has seriously challenged the possibility that the Moses account may be the one that is bogus. Why not? what are people afraid of? The truth?

No-one different than God and her closest friends and kin can in all probability be attentive to that and it extremely is not our place to decide. She says she is. From what i've got heard her say and from what i've got analyze her ideals i believe that she is yet all of us be attentive to that individuals can 'have the patter' and human beings in public existence learn greater approximately employing words effectively than maximum individuals. i think of that that's gloomy that skeletons are dragged from closets at circumstances like this and we actually did no longer ought to be attentive to approximately her brother in regulation or her daughter's being pregnant. little doubt greater airborne dirt and dirt would be dished till now that's over. as quickly as a salacious tale has been unfold it will be believed by employing the hundreds whether that's real or no longer. Smear techniques are disgusting and could no longer help anybody elect the superb suited guy or woman for the interest.

I am a christian and believe me when I tell you that I have the same question and MANY more, especially from the old testament.
Regarding your question, we BELIEVE through FAITH alone.
Personally, I do not think that science can prove that the creation of earth was done in 6 days.
But, we have an almighty God, and through Him, ALL things are possible. We just need to believe through faith.

I have been baptized so I think I am a Christian and all I can say is that there are too many people in this world that take religion a bit too seriously.
Having said that, atheists are just as bad in the opposite direction.
Basically one group is often trying to convince the other that they are wrong but I find this to be quite arrogant as nobody knows the real answer. We think we know this and that but in the end we know very little.

We have evidence that the earth is millions of years old, you need to understand that that story was told around campfires as an explanation, it didnt really happen. It is possible that god created the universe, but we know for a fact it wasnt in 10,000 years. Nowhere does it say they were 24 hour days or 10,000 years, its as if your making some of this up.

As a Christian Preacher I think of it in this manner;
The Bible is NOT a history of the world, but a history of the Jewish people.
It is a history of God's attempts to offer reconciliation between man and Himself.
First through the Law of the Old Testament and then through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ in the New Testament.
