God will never tell you to jump from the 7th floor, for that will be suicide, which God is against.

Jesus was also tested by Satan in Matthew 4:1 -

The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert, so that the devil could test him.

Verse 5: Next, the devil took Jesus into the holy city to the highest part of the temple. 6. The devil said Now this is the devil speaking "If you are God's son, jump off. It is written (the scripture says) "God will give his angles order about you. They will catch you in their arms, and you wont hurt your feet on the stones".
Verse 7. Jesus answered "The Scriptures also say Don't try to test the Lord your God.

You must know that the devil knows the scripture better than you and me.

Whenever you faced with a situation always say "it is written and quote God's Word for that is one of the weapons.

"a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand"

Take Care

Even Jesus did not put God to the test when Satan asked him to jump off a cliff and have Almighty God Jehovah send angels to save him.

Like many people have said, God would never ask someone to do that. Is there a serious religious question you can ask maybe just once.

The question is imprecise.

Is this just some "God" walking up to me telling me to do something idiotic without credentials?
I'd likely say something like, "After you, buddy."

Or is this something that has somehow actually convinced me it is, indeed, "God" and that there would some actual point to this exercise?
Even then, I'd be inclined to inquire, "So, uh... why me? Isn't that a bit of a smack in the face of those who believed without proof?"

According to the Bible God only does things that are consistent to His character. Foolishness is not one of them so I expect God would not make such a request of anyone because it is unreasonable and not consistent with the mid and will of God.

I wouldn't take a leap of faith. If he *proved* that he was completely trustworthy and that more people would benefit than suffer as a result of the leap, then I would consider it.

I would maybe say "I'll do it if you guarantee that my family will be protected."

God wouldn't ask that kind of things.
The devil would and the devil could disguise himself into God.

Depends on which god you are talking about. You seem to have more than one.

If only GOD had allowed me to kill STUPID people; seriously, I would start with you.

Anyway, GOD doesn't ask his servants to do stupid things like you said. THANK GOD!
