Its a common way now for people to meet up so I would not worry about the fact you met him online. But if you feel uncomfortable with him for any reason then leave as soon as possible. Tell someone where you are going and trust your instincts. It could be the best thing you do and if it helps you get over the other person who you say is a **** (and I am guessing its not a nice word!) then it will be worth it. Go for it, but be sensible. Good luck.

I say go for it.
Just be thankful that you are meeting at least.
I know someone who had been 'dating' a man online for what seemed forever, and when she suggested they meet offline he came up with all sorts of excuses. She felt cheated and swore off online relationships with dead ends.
At least you will be given the chance to see what he really is and not build castles in the air.
Good luck

It's rather common now.
Make sure you plan for safety, though.
Meet in a public place. Let a friend know where you are. If you go back to his place later, use the common technique of texting his address to someone who will notice if you go missing.
Many people meet their dates and future mates on-line these days. I know several married couples who met on-line.

I think it is important that you know his background very well, so he will not turn out as a psycho. But if you know that he is a good guy, give yourself a chance to meet other people and enjoy their company. This could be the guy for you.
Good luck.

People in this day and age are finding love on line more then very. I have been chatting with a guy I met on www.singlec.com and we also talk on skype and I feel weird about telling others about him. I want to meet this guy someday. Talk to your parents about it and see what they think.

Until you know him enough to trust him, meet in a public place with lots of people around. Keep it casual and just be yourself. I met my fella online. I figured we'd chat maybe 2 weeks but we never shut up. When we met in person, we clicked instantly. But he flew from England to meet and visit me, and my son was our chaperon. Blessedly, he was just as nice, respectful, funny, and wonderful in person as he was online. That was 2 years ago. Good luck!

I say go for it. the best way to meet some one is by grabbing some drinks. that way if you dont like him your not gonna be stuck with him for an entire dinner or what not. but if ya do you can arrange another meeting or go grab dinner right then and there!
