Venkatesh, i think our attitudes are quite similar. I too also hesitate in talking of Love to others. human mind set is so much pre-conditioned that we stick to a notion about Love as something, that should happen certainly in every one's life.

But what's this magic called Love. I've attended certain discourses about Love by our renowned spiritual masters which, according to most of them, is that connects each one of us with God. What are mother-child , father-child, child-sibling, girl-boy, wife-husband relations. Are all these different forms of the term called Love.

Then what about other creatures around us. Do they also experience Love, perhaps YES. Sorry for feeding you with more questions. I hope a better answer might come from some one

Its debatable that God is everything. A good description is when moses went to the burning bush and god supposedly said "I am that I am" which is like saying "My name is isness" ofcourse anythign is possible and I dont think god is just love but its possible. When you really think about it though, all matter is made of energy (protons and electrons) and humans need energy to survive. It could be that the very energy that makes up all matter and sustains us is god.

Its a different way of looking at it. Hope I helped.

Stop scaring yourself!
Try to spend less time thinking about love and more time giving and receiving it.

Remember the Wizard of Oz's advice to the Tin Man:
"...a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others."

Apostle John may have written that "God is love", but he also wrote that "No one has seen God at any time". You can spend years trying to unravel his writings, and in the process miss a bunch of great opportunities to love and be loved.

love is caring about someone else more than you care about yourself.

god insists that you love him. god also regularly insists that you abuse those whom you would naturally love to prove that you love him best (matthew 8: 21-22).

god would not treat anyone whom he loved so ill.

god insists you love him, but he will not love you.

perhaps this is your notion of love. it is not mine.
