i don't think it's poison unless you let it be. it's just probably frustration....wouldn't you be frustrated if you had faith in nothing? life's hard enough with faith....could you imagine not having any?

Most Christians nowadays are like the Pharisees, the legalistic religious group in Judaism. I'm a Christian and the reality pains me. However, a true Christian doesn't fight or force anyone to believe Christ. A true Christian believes that it's his job to share the message of salvation. He also believes that the God (through the Holy Spirit) can change the person and not him. If a person who claims to be a Christian shares to a atheist and then the atheist is not convinced and then the Christian argues with him, he isn't a true Christian. For a true Christian nods and understands and prays for that person for him to accept Christ.
I think most atheists are full of so much poison against Christians because of the higher percentage of what the Bible calls "worldly Christians". Christians who are still "babies in Christ" who don't know the true meaning of being a Christian. It's hard to find a true Christian and it's hard being one because Satan will make it hard for them. However, if all Christians were really true, well, I don't think atheists will think bad about them.
I maybe not perfect and maybe I even delve into things a normal male teenager will do but believe this: In the times that I stumble, I rise again to continue on the path of Jesus Christ, to claim the promise He has given to each and everyone who believes.

You generalize, not only with one group but with two, and generalizations serve no one well. This is a board meant to show ones views and you will find this here, how often have you seen this out in the real world? Very little I will wager.
This atheist happens to be married to a christian so if I was filled with that much poison do you think that would have happened?

I didn't start out at Y!A with so much contempt for many of the Christians here. I simply disagreed with their point of view. Now, however, I loathe the canned, simplistic, ignorant and just plain wrong trash that they post. It's like trying to debate with a three year old. They just stick their fingers in their ears and scream "it's true, the bible tells me so" until you can take it no more. I then lose my admittedly short temper and retaliate.
I'm not looking to convert or convince anyone. I seriously doubt anybody here really thinks that will happen. I was just looking to have an enjoyable exchange of views, with the occasional heated debate. Now I'm only here to stomp on the ignorant answers and comments with as much sarcasm and contempt as I can muster.

I have no poison for Christians. I have a problem with some of the more far out ones. I also am no fan of organized religion. I do try to be as polite as possible though.

I don't have any poison towards Christians, I find the Christian religion to be a way to control people. It is a money making business. I believe they mistake the feeling of guilt with faith.

I've never been reported for giving an honest answer that disagreed with Atheists.
I've been reported for giving an honest answer by Christians, Wiccans, Pagans and Muslims.
I need no further proof which side is composed of the most integrity. While Atheists can dish it out--undoubtedly so--they can take it too. Most others can't.

I suppose that I have fun responding to questions.
It isn't necessarily that both sides are horribly rude. It's more of the fact that most of us will stick by our guns. We have completely opposing views about the supernatural that require a reworking in philosophy in order to change our perspective
For most of us, it goes like this: Christians will not change their minds due to faith, and atheists will not change our minds without evidence. So we're kind of at a crossroads.
The exchange of opposing ideas is only useful for learning about the "other side," not in altering our view. The best we can do is to come to some tolerant understanding with the other side, or at least recognize their human commonalities.

I am not full of poision. I have defended atheists several times. I have friends here who are atheists.
You are right, though. We will never convince one another. I told someone here in an email message that we ought to agree to disagree. She refused and told me it was WAR because all Christians are so evil. She told me she would NEVER agree to disagree.
Her loss...
There are very few, though, that are like that.

I don't think that applies to all atheists and Christians. However I do admit, some atheists and Christians hate each other. From my personal opinion, they can't accept and understand the world is about diversity. Diversity is everywhere in this world and they fail to see that.

We just disagree that's all, and unfortunately humanity is very good at disagreeing. Besides, it's something to talk about!
