Drunk on Duty? I didn't know they discharged people for that.
It must have been multiple offenses.

NO!! The Government does not pay the Military enough as it is to Lay Down Their Lives for the People of another Country instead of their own!! How would extending their tour of Duty in IRAQ to three years save TAX Money anyway? The ones in Washington D.C. make more money off our TAX than a SOLDIER ever did!!
This WAR is just turning into another VIETNAM and we should not have been there in the first PLACE!!
ME!! I only spent 6 years in the Army so I learned well that you do not make alot to lay your life down for more than you have to!

N O, the US government ought to in the present day reinstate the DRAFT and deliver you and the the remainder of the anti-armed forces and anti-conflict civilians to Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea and Iran and commence displaying all the civilians, what that's to serve interior the armed forces for the pay that we get. the subsequent draft that the government has ought to do away with all college deferments and the different deferments that they arise with. anybody will circulate, in spite of your well being or how prosperous you're. NO, a three year tour is to long, and we should never cut the Military's Pay. The Military Pay should be tax exempt on Federal, State, and Local Levels. for anyone serving outside the 50 states.

No. They should shorten deployments to six months. Then, you don't have to worry about sending anyone on RnR. And then, if a unit gets extended, you don't have to pay them an extra $1000 a month. That would save money and improve morale. My unit got extended twice while I was in Iraq (one special, and then the blanket extension. If we hadn't gotten the blanket fifteen month extension, we would have actually been there longer.

are you serious. military doesnt get paid very well at all. at least not the navy. it takes years to make decent money. why do you think the military offers perks, like discounts, medical insurance (w/o co-pay). If we got paid any less than we do now we would be living behind walmart in a box! the military should not have to suffer a wage cut because the government spends too much money on stupid stuff. in my opinion, people who risk their lives to do there jobs should be making the big bucks, not football players, etc...

We could save money by cutting social services, stop road repair, eliminate all forms of law enforcement, stop those noisy water wasting fireman, no more congress, no judicial system.

All we need is a dictator and the military. That way we double their pay and save taxes. Would that make you happy?

The words above are sarcasm. My true feeling is: Raise military pay, cut congressional pay. When military and congressional paychecks are equal, then congress will think before they talk and act.

Our military doesn't make nearly enough! Tax free is a better choice!

And, you could stop eating your sour grapes and try to be an adult.

If the Gov't extended tours to 3 years and cut pay, and will send you home for drunk on duty, I forsee a rise in alcoholism in the armed forces.

drunk on duty, well thats says it all for me...your own fault and thank god that most soldiers take their job more seriously.

a cut down of the pay?? no!!! where did you get this stupid idea from? if you want to save tax then get all the lazy people working who sit on their bums all day while claiming as much as they can from the gov. government should cut that down but not the pay for people who might loose their lives in the name of this country.

(before people start,im not saying that everybody on the dole is lazy. i mean those who are fit enough and have 24 hrs a day to themselves but just cant be bothered to work)

How about the government raising the tax on gasoline so those who sit at home and text on their cell phones stupid messages, or play video games while living in their moms basement can pay $9.00 a gallon for gas.
Perhaps this would stop global pollution and the need for foreign oil, then our troops could stay home too.

Haha, yeah, like military members get paid nearly enough in the first place! thats funny. And 3 year tours, our military force wouldn't be able to rotate in-and-out in 3 year periods.
