I say evolution is fact, HOW evolution occurs is what is called "Evolutionary Theory"
From "Project Steve":
Evolution is a vital, well-supported, unifying principle of the biological sciences, and the scientific evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of the idea that all living things share a common ancestry. Although there are legitimate debates about the patterns and processes of evolution, there is no serious scientific doubt that evolution occurred or that natural selection is a major mechanism in its occurrence. It is scientifically inappropriate and pedagogically irresponsible for creationist pseudoscience, including but not limited to "intelligent design," to be introduced into the science curricula of our nation's public schools

A conservative federal Judge (appointed by Bush) in Dover, PA has already established that Intelligent Design is nothing more than Creationism using new terminology. Since Creationism was judged by the Supreme Court as religious (and therefore not able to be taught in Science class) in 1987, some deceitful individuals, religiously motivated, tried to come up with something that might fool people. That's where Intelligent Design came from.
In fact, the ID book The Panda's Thumb originally used the words "Creationism". After the Supreme Court decision the editors did a word processing replacement of the word "Creationism" with "Intelligent Design". How deceptive and dishonest can you get?

The scientific evidence that you say is overwhelmingly in favor of the idea that all living things share a common ancestry could just as easily be proof that all things had the same designer and creator.
Think about a Porsche and Volkswagen ‘Beetle’ car. They both have air–cooled, flat, horizontally–opposed, 4–cylinder engines in the rear, independent suspension, two doors, boot (trunk) in the front, and many other similarities Why do these two very different cars have so many similarities? Did the humble Volkswagon "evolve" into the sporty Porche or did they have the same designer?
Whether similarity is morphological (appearance), or biochemical, is of no consequence to the lack of logic in the argument that common features is proof for evolution.
Science can't observe creation in action nor can they duplicate it in a lab experiment so all they can do is theorise how it might have been.
It all depends on how you interpret what you are seeing when you look at the evidence and what assumptions and preconcieved ideas bias the way you join all the dots together.

1. This probably has something to do with it for sure..."is a threat to my beliefs so I'm going to disregard the evidence because my personal interpretation of the Bible trumps any and all science"? " 2. As I do..."I don't find the evidence for evolution convincing".

'Intelligent Design' has nothing to do with Ken Hams 'Creation Science' people. This science was put together by 5 non-Christian scientist who had become concerned about the obvious flaws in the evolution ideas. Zembski himself was an evolutionist so it is important to note the 'Intelligent Design' is not a Christian idea even though it supports the creator idea. it is also important to note that besides opposition from the empiricists the Vatican issued a statement arguing against this science being taught in schools. Strange position for the Vatican to take it seems but Catholicism is essentially 'Theistic evolution'. They both have their problems because they are forced to explain the existence of personality where there is none. Evolution cannot explain personality yet they lay claim to a story on origins second to none.

I believe in evolution too.
The bible is the work of primitive minds, assembled by a group of people with vested interests.
Evolutionary theory is backed up by heaps of evidence and even allows for changes should more evidence be found!
How cool is that?
The bible doesn't.
I have always found it disturbing that in this modern world, there is still people willing to believe in a universe of 6000 years of age, and that we exist at the whim of a creator, who despite being omnipotent, still needs us to worship him.
