Lets live and let live.

Religious people have a tendency to view their perspective as the only true perspective, and that everyone else's beliefs are wrong and should be ignored.

I accept that they have their beliefs. That's logical enough. Fact of the matter is that at least 3 or 4 terrorist attacks are perpetrated by Muslims, for "Muslim interests," every day. In the last couple years alone there have been over 9000 terrorist attacks by Muslim groups.
Christian terrorist groups also exist, but in far fewer numbers. There have been scattered events in India and Indonesia wherein Christian terrorist groups have attacked, or bombed for a religio-political purpose. The numbers, however, don't even begin to stack up. The last notable event happening in 2006, and before then, in 2004. These are two incidents compared with 9000--four a day.
Does this indemnify Islam as a whole? Of course not. There's no way I can honestly sit here and say that all Muslims are terrorists, but I can say that there are more Muslim terrorists than there are terrorists of any other faith, and that they united without national borders under the cause of religion. It is a religiously centered terrorism.
So will I acquiesce and just roll over and 'accept' their values? No. I won't. I will stand against any attempt at intimidating me. I'm not an Iraqi. I will not vote for a murderer at gunpoint, signed in the blood of myself and my family. I'll fight tooth and nail for every basic human right. This is because I am a proud secularist. I believe in moving forward, not letting the past and our baser animal instincts catch up with us.
So take your pro-religious catering speech elsewhere. I disagree wholeheartedly. Religion is the bane of us all. If we give it too much strength, if we succumb to it too easily, it'll drag us back down into the dark ages.

nice idea, and one embraced by most religions but for example an atheist of the kind we get on answers would hate for evryone to love each other or for another example could a satan worshipper ever be freinds with christians?
i work, hope and pray for this acceptence for all people but it will not happen until we find aliens, because we will be so obsessed with kicking their butts and taking their technology we will forget about each other until we get in each others way of kicking alien butt, then we fight each other and the aliens

people have to argue in order to come to a conclusion that makes sense. it is logical to listen, analyse, research and question something you learn. some people however neglect to analyse and research. they are ignorant and are the cause of confusion and hatred. if everyone got on it would mean that everything made sense to us all. that would mean we have reached perfection... i think humanity is on the verge of a real breakthrough but first there is going to be a big storm and then peace and tranquility... sit back and enjoy the show...

I have no problem with any ones belief system until it infringes on mine or they feel I should be abolished/punished/saved because I do not prescribe to theirs. Then we have a problem.....
