No, nothing's wrong. I mean, I feel sleepy after a hearty meal and I'm nowhere near 40. It's perfectly normal to feel sleepy after meals.

And kudos to your dad for exercising everyday!

in some countries...its part of the culture to nap after meals...ever hear of a siesta?

A siesta (IPA: /siːˈɛstə/, original Spanish pronunciation IPA: ˈsjest̪a) is a short nap taken in the early afternoon, often after the midday meal. Such a period of sleep is a common tradition in some hot countries. The word siesta is Spanish, from the Latin hora sexta - "the sixth hour" (counting from dawn, therefore noon, hence "midday rest").

I am always sleepy after a meal...let him rest and quit worrying (by the way..he's lucky to have a daughter that cares!!)

This is normal when you have eaten a big meal the body has to digest it this takes energy and tires you out,
Look at say a lion he will eat and then sleep it off,
I would suggest eating smaller portion more often is better for you than all at once.

Could it be that he's eating too many carbohydrates? That happens to me.
