God gave such powers to jins and men but also did forbid in Quran that it is sin to learn the magics. God created concept of evil like Satan, but also warned us not to do evil things and not to follow evil Satan. His creating magic or Satan and evil is to create two opposit things pious and evil, day and night, good and bad to distinguish between the two which is acceptable to do and which is not. Is opposite were not created humans would have not known their which action is good and which is not bad, or which person is good and which person is not good.
Who ever disobey God and does evil or follow evil Satan will be punished. Without first letting man the differences between the good and evil, how could God punish humans for their bhaviours not acceptable to God?

I'm not muslim and I am not sure I belive in what they call jinn's or not...
but have you considered the possibility that humans *do* have "magic powers" and that perhaps they are forgotten and/or simply function in a different way, that you do not identify as magical?

Jinn are the descendants of Satan.
I think you call them followers?, children? of Satan in Christianity, not sure really.
So they have powers, but not 'magical'. Just powers like: Travelling to many places really fast, Invisibility (They are always invisible), they are extremely strong (We believe they built King David's castle in a very short time)

"I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me"
Holy Quran chapter 57:56
Jinns are inmaterial and human are material.
Human dont have the capability of magical powers. They were give brain power.
"He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery,
And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke"
Holy Quran : 55 :14,15
