Yes!

Just let it work it's way out of your system. But, you'll be miserable the whole time, and the recovery time might be longer than if you use medicine.

I would drink lots of liquids, tea (hot or cold), juices, hot chocolate, soups. The liquids will keep you hydrated, and will help soothe your throat, and the steam from the hot liquids will help clear your sinuses.

You can also fill up your sink with boiling water, and sit with your head over it, covered by a towel, and inhale the steam to help clear your sinuses and loosen mucus buildup in your lungs.

The only thing that has been proven in studies to help shorten a cold is zinc supplements. It's one of the active ingredients in Zicam, an over-the-counter cold treatment. Other than that, all you can really do is get lots of rest, drink lots of fluids, and eat healthy foods to try and boost your immune system, but you're pretty much going to have to deal with the cold. Hope you feel better soon!

Colds are caused by viruses, not bacteria, so there is no way to get rid of a virus, period. It has to run it's course. Medicine only alleviates the symptoms but nothing on this planet can get rid of a cold, at least nothing known yet to medical knowledge.

I take alavert (1 capsule is good for 24 hours), it rids congestion, as well as all the other cold symptoms, you still know you have a cold but its more of a side note than actually being sick or anything.... allergy relief tablets work great :)
